How often should I service my car?

Many vehicles benefit from servicing every 12 months or 10–12k miles, whichever comes first. Lots of short journeys or towing can mean more frequent checks help.

Interim vs full service

An interim service focuses on key fluids and safety checks. A full service includes broader inspections and replacement of additional items where required.

Can I keep driving?

If the engine light is flashing or the car is running poorly, stop when safe and get advice. If it’s steady, you may be able to drive cautiously, but book diagnostics so the issue doesn’t worsen.

When should tyres be replaced?

Legally, tread must be at least 1.6mm. Performance drops before that, and many drivers replace around 3mm, especially ahead of winter.

Why does my steering wheel vibrate?

Vibration at speed is often caused by wheel imbalance. Balancing can improve comfort and reduce uneven tyre wear.

What do squealing or grinding brakes mean?

Squealing can be wear indicators or brake dust. Grinding often indicates pads are very low and metal is contacting the disc. If in doubt, book a brake inspection quickly.
